On Friday 1st April the children of the Harinui Syndicate did some ‘Word Work,’ we wrote as many of our sight words as we could, as quickly as we could. This is building up our store of words we can write.
We sat at our tables and really focused on writing quickly and carefully. There was not much talking – and a lot of really good work!
My buddy watched me as I wrote my words. I read them to him. We were happy we knew so many words.
The teachers walked around supporting us. We read our word lists to them. We should only write the words we can read so they are meaningful. Some of us wrote lots of words because we worked quickly.
We worked for a short time, but we were as busy as bees. Everyone did their nest. We are learning more and more words every day, especially when we practice them at home with our family!
