Here we are in Week 5. This term is really flying by! WOW. So the big news of the week is that we are back in lockdown.
First, please continue using the original pack you would have collected during this year’s first lockdown. There’s more than enough material in there to tide you over. If you did not collect your at home pack you can still do that through the office at school. Second, please find a link below to an online distance learning resource. These two resources plus IXL Maths and English and Sunshine Online are more than enough work for your children during this time.
The main thing to focus on at this time would be reading. Reading in Year 2 is all about mileage. Please help engage your learner in Reading during this time utilising all the reading materials you have at hand, be that on or offline,
Welcome back to school and our first week of distance learning. As we set out on our adventure please remember there is no map and we need to chart our own course.
We have prepared work for the week for the entire Arohanui syndicate. Have a go and see how you get on. Please let us know what’s working and what’s not working. If you’ve received a Government package, would you let us know?
We’ve now included: Religious Education, a physical activity, and a lock down activity.
We’ve included offline activities to break up the use of devices. At this time we think 90 minutes to 120 minutes school led learning is adequate. Create your own timetable and set your own pace. Ease into it.
Please remember to build in some breaks between learning and understand that we don’t expect everything to be completed. We are simply offering you some learning opportunities during the challenge of lock down. You know your family best so please do what’s right for you. We are here to support you.
