Keeping the ball rolling with Te Matauranga

17 August 2020 · by fianat

Te Matauranga Distance Learning slides are back and running. It is Day 1 of distance learning during Level 3 lockdown and we have seen students from Room 11, Room 12 and Room 13 logging in, completing their set tasks and tracking their progress as well.

We hope you are all enjoying distance learning just as much as we are!

Gospel reflections

31 July 2020 · by fianat

In Te Matauranga syndicate, we have been learning about reflection and meditation. This is a short video of how Room 11 are reflecting on the Gospel of Matthew, preparing for Sunday’s mass. This is the story about Jesus feeding the 5,000 re-enacted individually. Can you tell which one of these students will be a great actor/actress when they grow up?

Make an estimation

30 June 2020 · by fianat

In Te Matauranga Syndicate this week, we have been learning how to make estimations or ‘guesses’. The image below is our math warm up for Monday. Can you make an estimation about how many dice are in the cup and give reasons why you chose this number?

Which ogre do you like?

30 June 2020 · by fianat

Mr Kaleti and Ruma tekau ma toru (Room 13), have been creating and writing about their own ogres. Which ogre do you like?

Which one doesn’t belong?

23 June 2020 · by fianat

For the past few weeks, Te Matauranga syndicate have been learning about shapes, translations, reflections, rotations and parallel lines. For our math’s warm up this week, we have been writing down reasons why each shape does not belong. Give it a go!
