This is an extension of the school day and all children will be expected to complete reading, spelling, basic facts and specific activities each night as directed by their class teacher. Please ensure all tasks are attempted and all books and work are returned to school each day as they are needed for class lessons. Homework should be posted on the Manaakitanga page of the school website.
The summer uniform needs to be worn by all students. This includes a HolyCrossSchool hat which must be worn during Morning Tea and Lunch breaks. Footwear should be black roman sandals except for Year 6 boys who have the option of wearing school shoes and socks. Please ensure your child is wearing the correct uniform and has their P.E. uniform at school every day (it is recommended that children have at least 2 pairs of P.E. uniforms). Children need plain black shorts (no stripes or monograms). Remember we do not allow any nail polish or jewellery apart from a pair of stud earrings and a watch. Hair should be tied up in the school colours.
Could you also please check to see that all clothing and footwear is clearly named as this enables us to return any articles of clothing that may be misplaced. All children must bring a note if they are not wearing the correct uniform.
Counties-Manukau Sport is offering free skills coaching to Year 5&6 students to encourage sport participation and membership at school and club level. This term they will be taking football and basketball skills from 3pm to 4pm (dates to be announced). The sessions will be on the Holy Cross back field and courts. Those interested need to see Mr ‘Ofamo’oni.
We will endeavor to update you of the syndicate’s news on the Manaakitanga page of the school website. This means that this will be the last of our Term syndicate paper newsletters sent out.
Kindest Regards and God’s Blessings,
The Manaakitanga Syndicate.
