Welcome to our learning space! We look forward to sharing our journey with you. Take our hand on our e-Learning journey and help us reach the stars. Featuring Year 5 and 6 children from Rooms 20, 21 and 22.kk
Atawhai would like to welcome our new students to our syndicate. We are looking forward to sharing our learning journey with you.
We will be utilising Google Docs to record homework in the Atawhai syndicate. Homework contracts have been distributed to all students and are to be discussed with parents and returned immediately. This contract informs you of the requirements for homework. A copy of the procedures is below:
Homework is the same every day and is to be completed Monday to Thursday (unless unfinished class work is being completed for the next day or project work is being completed).
There are three basic parts to homework:
Read at least fifteen minutes a night. On your homework template in Google Docs, note the title, author and pages read.
Practise maths facts at least fifteen minutes a night. On your homework template, make a note of how you studied, (eg IXL, flash cards, written, orally, computer etc).
Oral practice with ALL list words after you complete a pre-test on Monday. Record the definition of words you have misspelt in your test and record these into your Spelling book. Practice these during the week in preparation for the post-test on Friday.
***Students are encouraged to comment on their homework and a parent or caregiver is to ‘sign’ the homework template to indicate it has been completed daily.
Homework templates via Google Docs are checked by the teacher each week.
