Welcome to the Aroha Syndicate page, featuring Year 1 children from Rooms 4a, 9 and 10.
On Friday morning our school enjoyed watching the Duffy Theatre. Three very talented people acted and sang for us. We enjoyed it very much. Everyone laughed and clapped. We were able to answer questions and give ideas for how the show went.
The props and backgrounds looked great. They were simple and moveable so they could be used in many different scenes, The three main characters were – Duffy, Rosie his cousin and his Uncle Bingo!
In the story Rosie and Duffy waited excitedly for Uncle Bing a famous rugby player to visit. Duffy and Rosie love to read but Uncle Bingo didn’t. The two children tried very hard to show him how much fun reading is. Uncle Bingo was easily distracted though. He spent a lot of time making sure his hair was perfect, talking to famous people on his phone and talking to us…..
Rosie and Duffy made a special book for Uncle to read. He took it with him on his trip home to Sydney, Australia. We helped decide on the type of stories and sounds that would be in the book, things to interest and entertain Uncle Bingo. It was called ‘The Very Best Book.’
Soon he was reading and enjoying it!! Now Uncle Bingo loves reading too.
We hope you enjoy the photos which show you some important parts of the show.
