Welcome back to school on Thursday 18th For everyone’s health and well-being, the following procedures will be implemented from Thursday 18th
To make it easier for contact tracing we are asking parents to drop children off at the three school gates – Carruth Rd, Fairview Rd or St George St entrances.Children can enter between 8.00am–8.45am. We would appreciate that no parents/caregivers/whanau come on to the school grounds. There will be Staff on duty at these entry points.Any adults accompanying Year 0/2 students will be allowed to accompany them to their classroom and they must come through the school gates and have details recorded on the school’s contact tracing register. Adults cannot go into the classrooms.
All visitors must come to the main office and fill in the contact tracing register or scan the COVID QR code. The gates will be locked and there will be no entry to the school grounds during the school day.
Staff and students who are sick must stay home. Heading into autumn, we need to be extra vigilant in this matter. Anyone who is unwell should stay at home until two days after symptoms have gone away.Individuals must be tested if they have the COVID 19 symptoms cough, runny nose, fever, loss of smell or difficulty breathing. Please do not be offended but we are instituting a strict policy of isolating sick children immediately and sending them home. This is for the safety of everyone in our school whanau.
Physical distancing in schools remains important particularly when people are interacting. We are following the Ministry guidelines for schools in this matter. The risks are relatively lower at Alert Level 2.
BREAKS AND PLAYGROUND
To help with physical distancing we will have two break times, Juniors Year 0-4 and Seniors Years 5-8, which will limit the number of students in the playground.Syndicate teams will have set areas for eating and playing.
HYGIENE AND CLEANING
When entering and leaving the classrooms and before and after breaks children will all have to use the hand sanitiser provided in each room. Children will have their own pens, pencils and assigned devices for Years 3-8. Soap and hand towels will, as usual, be available in all bathrooms. Cleaners will complete daily cleans in line with MOH guidelines.
Please return all school chrome books to school on Thursday18th as they will be needed for in-school learning.
There will be no online learning or resources provided from Thursday 18th. All children are due back at school from this day.We appreciate your support in this matter. We have endeavoured to make sure that all children, parents, staff are safe when returning to school and we are following the Ministry of Health guidelines to ensure this happens.
Yours in Christ
