With the hot weather we have been experiencing Room 21 with Mr Allen completed some wonderful poems. Here are two examples.
A day in the Summer
It was flaming, a summer day broiling,
Everyone was outside. It was blistering.
People all on the sandy beach.
The heat coming fast, and I am burning.
Having an ice cream in the shade.
A slight breeze arrived as slow as a slug.
It was still as hot as fiery lava.
Eating my treat, I was recherché.
Summer is scorching everywhere in Auckland.

The sky shoots with heat.
My red face is boiling with sweat.
My ice blocks starts to liquefy just like me.
All the vibrant flowers begin to bloom and butterflies flutter away.
Kids run across the grassy field with ice cream dropping on the ground.
Steam started growing from family barbecues while flies sneak around the food.
Birds were singing in harmony.
I hopped on a boat and went sailing through the cool crisp breeze.
The wavy surface splashed the sides of the boat.
The rays of sunshine started to make me feel like the core of the sun.
As I grilled the fish I watched the fascinating summer sunset.
The tangy taste of the fish attracted my mouth,
