Throughout the year there will be many opportunities to participate in sport, music and cultural groups for the school. We would like to see every child try as many groups and sports as possible. Sports in Term 1 include; cricket, playball, swimming, rippa, rugby, soccer and netball.
Children will be expected to complete reading, spelling, basic facts and specific activities each night as directed by their class teacher. Please ensure all tasks are attempted and all books and work are returned to school each day as they are needed for class lessons.
The summer uniform needs to be worn by all students. This includes a Holy Cross School hat which must be worn during Morning Tea and Lunch breaks. Footwear should be black roman sandals except for Year 6 boys who have the option of wearing school shoes and socks. Please ensure your child is wearing the correct uniform and has their P.E. uniform at school every day (it is recommended that children have at least 2 pairs of P.E. uniforms). Children need plain black shorts (no stripes or monograms). Remember we do not allow any nail polish or jewellery apart from a pair of stud earrings and a watch. Hair should be tied up in the school colours.
Could you also please check to see that all clothing and footwear is clearly named as this enables us to return any articles of clothing that may be misplaced. All children must bring a note if they are not wearing the correct uniform.
Please ensure that your child has a healthy balanced lunch. No other drink (sports water included) is allowed apart from plain water.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask one of the syndicate teachers.
