Greetings one and all,
This term we have exciting events planned. First of all it’s BOOK WEEK and we are focusing on a book called ‘THAT’S NOT THE MONSTER I ORDERED’. We have started the week with Assembly and a mystery monster in a box. There are a variety of activities put on by the Literacy PLG team including a scavenger hunt around the school. The classes in Tumanako are focusing on different books. In Room 14 we are looking at the book called ‘RAINBOW MONSTERS LOVE COLOURS’. This has got the children thinking about the adventures that their colour monster can get up to. Have a look at our class monster in the photo he is full of monster-related words… and keen to have some colourful monster friends. The Room 14 children have chosen a colour for their monsters and will be writing and creating ideas for what ‘their monster’ will look like.
Next Monday we begin our free Community swim programme. Room 14 will be swimming at 9.30am, Room 15 at 10.00am and Room 16 at 10.30am. We will be at the Papatoetoe Centennial pools. Please ensure that your child has all the requirements they need for this awesome event. Please return the permission slip back to the classroom teacher as soon as possible. More updates to follow.
We look forward to working with you all this term and thank you for your support.
May God bless us all, from the Tumanako team
