Mrs de Koning walked to Animates Pet Shop with the first half of the Harinui Syndicate today, Tuesday 22nd of August. We left school straight after first break and walked in the sunshine for 20 minutes. We made sure we followed the road safety rules we had learned.
We were soon entering the Animates shop.
. First we looked around the store. We saw all the products the sell and the animals they had for sale. We were quiet and sensible.
We talked with our buddies in our group, describing the things we could see. We also shared about our own pets and what we would like to buy for them!
We looked at how much the pet supplies cost. Some of them are ‘must haves’ and some were ‘would likes.’ Having a pet is a big responsibility. We are in charge of them and should keep them happy, healthy and well.
We walked through he areas with pet beds, blankets, carriers, and homes.
As we moved through the store we saw a lot of things we can buy to set up a cage for birds. Things to sleep in, play with, and lay eggs in too.
We liked the lovely clear water the fish swam in. We could see them gliding and swimming about. Look at their fins, tails and scales. They were a lot of different colours.
We saw that there was a lot of equipment to care for the fish. their water needs to be clean and clear. They like to have weeds in their homes to swim around. Also bubbles put oxygen into their water to help them breathe through their gills.
We decided to choose some animals to sketch. We looked at all their body parts and their body coverings. We talked about the kind of animals they were, fish, amphibians, mammals. We did a good job!
The time we were there went very fast! It was not long before Mrs B arrived in the van with her group of students. We lined up and got into the two vans for the journey back to school. It was a great trip to go on……we had fun!
