Over the last two weeks we have been learning about the fantastic job our School Road Patrollers do to keep us safe. We have also been learning how to keep safe next to and on the road. On Thursday we were lucky to have two of the fantastic school Road Patrollers talk about their job and show us what they do.
We walked out to the road and watched the ladies get their special tools for their job, the stop signs, along the way. We waited on the footpath to keep safe.
They then put their signs into the stands and waited for a gap in the traffic to put their signs out.
When they had put their signs out we waited for the magic words: ‘Cross now!’ to tell us it was safe for us to cross the road. We then practised crossing the road safely.
Thank you to all the School Road Patrollers – you do a fantastic job keeping everyone safe on their journeys to and from school!
