On Monday 3rd July we were lucky enough to go to a special theatre show at the Pump House in Takapuna. Mrs de Koning had applied for free tickets for us, and we were lucky enough to get chosen. We travelled on a lovely bus, with soft seats and big windows!
It was a very rainy day as we left. The windscreen wipers were going and the windows soon misted up. It was a smooth and comfortable trip along the motorway and over the Harbour Bridge.
When we arrived we sat under cover and ate our lunch.
After lunch we had a little time ot fill in. We sang some action songs, played some phonemic awareness games, played “I Spy” and when the sun started to shine, we went for a short walk along the path and up the hill above the Theatre and Lake Pupuke.
Our show was due to start at 1pm. The theatre took a picture of us for their sponsors and then we went into the theatre. We had great seats with a very good view of the stage. We were not allowed to take photos or videos during the show, but Mrs de Koning took some shots of us before it started.
After the show we walked up the path to the roadside and met our bus. We had a great time.
We want to say a bog thank you to the parents who came with us …. we think they had a wonderful time too. Some of us were very tired and fell asleep as soon as the journey started. We had a very quiet trip back to school and arrived just at home time!! It was a very enjoyable day.
