Today Tuesday 20th March the Harinui Syndicate went for a visit to the Allan Brewster Centre. We met the staff there.
Then we split into two groups. One group went to do Ball Skills and Relays and the other went to have a game of soccer!
We each got a large bouncy basketball to practise our skills with.
We liked moving with our balls, bouncing and dribbling them.
We learned a new game called train relay. We held hands as we ran around the cones. We picked up one more person each time we ran back to the team.
Next we played some ball relays.
The first was tunnel ball.
The next was an under and over relay.
We listened carefully to the instructors Stephen and Tito. They explained our activities to us and then told us about the rules, so the games were safe and fair.
Everyone had a great time doing their activities and games. We ran, skipped, kicked, bounced and lined up. We worked in teams and helped each other.
We practised dribbling the soccer ball.
Then we had a soccer game.
We were all soccer stars!
We also had a running game like rippa soccer. There were 3 chasers. Everyone else had a sports bib in their pocket. The chasers ran after the other players and grab a bib. Then the person who lost the bib became a chaser! It was very fast and energetic! The next time we were skipping and chasing.
We were working hard and playing fair.
Another game we enjoyed a game of ‘Green Light – Red Light.’
Before we left we said thank you to the staff members for helping us to have a lovely afternoon of fun and learning.
We walked outside and sat in the sun and had an energy snack of a healthy apple before we walked smartly back to school.
When we got back everyone was tired but happy.
