One Tuesday the Harinui Syndicate walked down to the Papatoetoe Museum on Cambridge Terrace. A big thank you to Ms Clark and Mr and Mrs Newsome who make a great team.
We have been studying Financial Literacy for two weeks. They showed us photographs to show different things people needed money for long ago!
Next they showed us some things that people would have bought at the grocery store. They talked about how different shopping was long ago when
Next we looked at photos of different shops through the years. We saw how they had changed through the years. One of the photos shows the mural of an old Papatoetoe store.
Later we role played shopping long ago. There was a shopping list and a shopping basket. Ms Clark was the shop keeper and children took turns to do the shopping, asking for the items on the list and landing over the money to buy them!
Near the end we got a Scavenger Hunt. On the worksheet were special things we had to find throughout the museum. it was a fun time.
To say thank you we all sang a song!
