My heart was pounding; I was so scared as I walked through the church doors. We had the readings, sang some songs and then it was time to do the play. I was the injured man and people walked past me and didn’t help me. Suddenly a Samaritan came along and picked me up.
We sang some more songs and then it was time to go to the priests. I went and sat down. I told him my sins and he gave me a penance. I went out then it was time to go home.
I was surprised that it wasn’t very hard, it was easier than I expected.

Last night it was our First Reconciliation. When it began I was excited and scared at the same time. When Ohea finished reading the introduction Xavier, Melenaite and I sang ‘Create a new heart in Me’. Xavier sang first then it was my turn.
Next Messam did the first reading from Numbers, after he read it was time for the psalm before Eliyana did the second reading. Next was the play about the Good Samaritan. Harry was acting as the injured man, Francis was a Levite, Madison was the priest, Jimmy and Vili were the robbers. Cubyn was the good Samaritan. Sepa read the part of Jesus and Kohen read the part of the lawyer.
Finally it was time to go to the priest and I told him my sins. I was a bit nervous but Fr said don’t be scared and then I wasn’t.

Last night, Tuesday, all the Year 4 children that were in the sacramental classes went to the church to do their Reconciliation for the first time and I was a part of this. I was in the play with other Year 4 children.
There were loads of things going on. There was singing, reading and the play. When it was the play I was really nervous. I almost had an accident…

RECONCILIATION
When we got to Reconciliation I sat in the third front row seat next to Dwayne and Alexander Hunt. After the songs, the readings and when all the children who did their Reconciliation had finished going to the priests I was shivering like I was in the North Pole. I went to the priest and I didn’t feel nervous after that.

MY FIRST RECONCILIATION
Yesterday we had our First Reconciliation. We had a certain place to sit in the church. We sang a couple of songs then we went to talk to a priest. I went to Fr Maliu, he was behind the screen. I wasn’t nervous then.
Our parents were sitting behind us but near to us.
