For the past week Room 11 has been learning about our Anzac soldiers and what life was like for them in the trenches. Today, Room 11 was transformed into the trenches using desks and old sheets. Everyone was organised into 5 groups of soldiers with sergeants who led and looked after that group. There were 5 stations which we had to find our way to where we learnt about different parts of trench life by looking at photos and reading quotes from soldiers who lived through it. When gunfire was heard, everyone had to stop what they were doing, get down, and cover their heads and when the last post played, everyone had to stand and place their hand over their hearts to remember those who lost their lives in the war.
