On Thursday 16th March, Mrs de Koning and Mrs Kelly walked to the Papatoetoe Library with a group of seven new students. All of them had just begun school this year!
As we walked along the street we talked about road safety. We waited to cross the road when it was clear, we looked both ways as we walked over the road and we checked for sneaky driveways!
First we had a read when we arrived in the library. Then we went for a walk all through the library to see what was there…..Tamsyn remembered to bring her library card with her. She was able to choose a book to take home!
We all enjoyed watching Tamsyn take a book out using her library card. We all want to get one too!
We enjoyed meeting Ana the librarian. She showed us the kinds of things we can borrow from the library. Different kinds of books, CDs, DVDs to name a few. We all received a brochure telling us how we can join the Auckland Library for free. We also found out that no children’s book taken out on a children’s card ever receives a fine! What good news.
We hope to return to the library again and next time bring the whole of the Harinui Syndicate!!
