Today, Friday 21st October we went to the Sunnyside Tennis Club in Papatoetoe to continue our Science Unit – “Bouncing & Rolling (Balls)’
A big thank you goes to Deborah the Junior Coach who helped take us through a programme of warm-ups, big ball rallying in pairs, bouncing balls using the racquet, forehand techniques, and a game called ‘Racquet Swap’ to finish. We so appreciated her sharing her time and skills with us. It was fantastic that she had a helper to support her.
We all had fun inn the sun, we learned a lot about the first steps in tennis skills.
The time went very quickly as we moved from one activity to the other. Our confidence grew. We liked practising our skills.
We all listened carefully and tried our best. It was a happy time and we exerted a ;lot of energy. It was great that the courts are so close to school. We are all looking forward to going back next Friday!!
We all felt like champions on the courts. It was just as well that the courts had very high fences around as we were pretty good at hitting high ones! We got better and better as the time went on. Watch this space!!
