Last Tuesday 2nd June the Harinui Syndicate waked to the Puhinui Dental Clinic. There we met the Dental Therapist and the Dental Assistant. We wore our fluro vests and took our rain jackets over our shoulders – just in case it rained!!
We love to walk on our outings – it keeps us fit and healthy.
We learned all about the equipment in the examination room. The Dental Therapist talked to us and asked us questions. She told us what happens when someone visits her and asked us about tooth care and healthy eating.
We watched Veronica show us how to clean our teeth. The Dental Therapist talked her through it. Clean for 2 minutes, clean all surfaces, clean twice a day! Keep your gums and tongue lightly brushed too!!
Next some children dressed up. One was the Dental Therapist and one was the patient!
They did some role play. They acted their parts.
Then we had 2 boys become the Dental Therapist and patient. They were great!
Later another group came to see the Dental Clinic – we came in 3 separate groups so we were not to squashed!!
