On Friday as part of book week the Aroha Syndicate were lucky to have some girls from the Rangimarie join us to discuss healthy food choices and help us prepare some healthy snacks!
Each child paired up with one girl from the Rangimarie sydicate. They helped and supported us as we rotated around different stations. First we cut up carrot, celery, courgette and cucumber sticks and tried dipping them in to different flavored hummus. Some of us had not tried all of the vegetables or dips! Then we used banana, mandarin and grapes to make a fruit kebab!
Next we searched through magazines for healthy food and drew our own healthy lunch boxes. We talked with our buddies about the different food groups we should include.
We also practiced our hoop skills and reading together! We had a great time together and learnt a lot about preparing healthy lunches! Thank you Rangimarie students and teachers.
