Next Thursday 7th April will be our Run-a-thon day! All of the students in Harinui Syndicate have taken home blue forms. They give information about the day and have a sponsorship sheet on them. We will ask all our family/whanau and friends to sponsor us. They can pay us for each lap we run, or they can give us a donation. We need to write down their name and the amount they will give. After the Run-a-thon we will get a certificate to say how many laps we ran.
Today Mrs de Koning put some cones around the centre of the back field and we started our fitness programme. Every day we will run around the field trying to jog for longer and longer. The more laps we jog/run, the more money our sponsors will give us.
Today we ran with our sandals on, but tomorrow we think we will take them off to help us run smoothly on the soft ground. We will get fit and healthy after a week of running aorund the back field. We think we will run further each day, which means more and more laps completed.
Mrs de Koning and Mrs O’Grady were outside with us training. Mrs de Koning even ran around one lap to show us we could do it! The teachers cheered us on. They supported us and encouraged us…….
Harinui teachers are very proud of their students.
