On Holy Thursday Harinui Syndicate made groups with our Senior Buddies from Rangimarie Syndicate. We moved around the stations of the Cross. The senior students read the prayers and information to us. We sang between the stations, “Jesus, remember me, when you come into your Glory!”
It was a very special time together. Our buddies explained to us what each of the stations meant and what happened at them. We had talked about them already in class, and walked them with Mrs O’Grady and Mrs B, so it was a very meaningful time for us.
As our buddies brought us back to class they continued to work with us. The helped us complete our ‘Jelly Bean Prayer,’ they read through our Easter Story booklet and our poems.
Then, when everyone was back in class we worked together to make Mum and Dad an Easter Card. We coloured and decorated an egg shape. We cut the shape out, then glued it to the cover of our card. Later the senior students wrote our message for us. We dictated it to them and signed below it. It was great!
We enjoyed our time working together with our Senior Buddies. They let us do the work, and offered lots of great advice. It was nice to read a library book with them after we had finished our card!
