Thanks to Mrs Green we had fun today Thursday 3rd March making some special paper plate chickens. She found out how to make them on the internet and showed us the pictures of how they could look. Also her son Harris who is only 3 years old made one to show us how easy it was to make!
We talked about the materials and equipment we might need. We chose the colours of paper we wanted, we got a yellow paper plate. Everyone needed a sketch pencil to draw around our hands. We used scissors and P.V.A glue, also we used the stapler. .
Before morning tea we got the wings, comb, feet and beak ready. We made sure that we had our name written on the back of the body so we did not get our chickens mixed up.
We looked at each other to see how to make our chicken. We talked about what we were doing. We helped and encouraged each other. Our chickens are looking very good!
We left our chickens on the tables for the glue to dry. After lunch we used big thick black permanent markers to draw the eyes and other details onto the body of the chicken. We are going to hang them up on the walls. We read a chicken book and sang a silly chicken song too!
