On Wednesday 28th October Father Iosepha came to talk to the students of the Harinui Syndicate. We all went into Room 4a to meet with him. This visit was a follow-up to our Social Science Unit – ‘Our Church Community: Holy Cross Parish.’
Father shared with us about his time in ministry as a priest, his favourite things like – colour (blue) and lollies (all of them!) Then he told us some stories about when he was a boy. It was very interesting to learn about our priest as a member of our community.
After Father Iosepha had answered all our questions, he invited us to share morning tea with him at his home. We all took our bags with our morning tea in. We carried over our fruit buckets, which had bananas in them! Past the Church and over the pedestrian crossing we went in two careful lines. It was a lovely sunny day and we st down on the front lawn to enjoy our food.
We saw the lovely roses in Father’s garden, the new grape vines that had just been planted adn looked through the gate and over the road to see how close the Church was!
It was also a very exciting morning because we were introduced to father Elric who has just joined the parish. He is a great singer! We looked forward to him leading our school Mass of Friday for All Saints.
Thank you Father Iosepha for spending time with us – it is super to get to know you better!
