On Thursday, during week 1 of Term 4 Kita Tauga came to school and talked to the Harinui Syndicate about the Legion of Mary. Kita helps to organise and lead the Legion of Mary at Holy Cross Church.
The Legion of Mary is a lay catholic organisation whose members give service to the Church on a voluntary basis, in almost every country. The members join in the life of the parish through visiting families, the sick, both in their homes and in hospitals. Prayer is a very important part of their meetings.
After we had talked about The Legion of Mary and the Rosary Beads we went with Kita into the Church.
There we said our three special Rosary Prayers we have been learning: The Our Father, The Hail Mary, and the Glory Be!
We sat at the side altar during the prayer and we also sang our song, “The Face of God” there. Thank you Kita for coming and talking to us. We learned a lot of interesting and important things.
