Last week (week 5) Rooms 2 and 2a went for a visit to Holy Cross Church to visit the food bank. Mrs Helsham and one of her food bank helpers came to explain to us about the food bank. They told us how it helps people who need some extra support. Sometimes people have problems and need us to show Jesus’ love to them by sharing what we already have.
Many of us had brought a food item to share. Each one was a non-perishable type of food. That means it didn;t have to go into the fridge or freezer to keep fresh. Usually they are tinned, packaged or dried things. We gently placed them into the bottom of the special food bank box.
While we were in the Church foyer Father Iosefa came in with Father Paul who was visiting our parish. They talked with us too. Father thought we were very clever because of all the things we had learned.
Just as we support our sponsored child Sergio in Guatemala, by giving money to the missions, so we can help those who live in our community by sharing food with them through the Food bank.
