This term Rooms 2 and 2a have been going to the hall in the middle block on a Wednesday. When we first get there we always sit down and take our shoes and socks off. Everyone remembers to put one sock into each shoe to keep it safe. Then we put our shoes together in a pair and sit them against the wall so we can easily find them again.
As our warm up we walked around the lines. Sometimes we hopped, jumped, skipped, walked forwards or backwards. Our muscles were warming up and stretching. All the time we tried to be very quiet and sensible, using gentle feet.
Here are some of the activities we did on the equipment over the last few weeks.
We like to use the rebounder. We jumped three times and then jumped off onto the mat. As we landed we put our hands up in the air and came to a stop!
Mrs O’Grady showed us how to pull up on the bar and balance our tummies on it. We used a gentle jump on the rebounder to get up onto it
Mrs de Koning helped us to balance on the beam. We put it onto the lowest setting. Mrs de Koning walked beside us in case we lost our balance. We held out our arms to help us keep balanced. We carefully moved along putting one foot in front of the other.
We have great fun doing gymnastics in the hall and every week we feel a little bit more confident. Our skills are developing well!
