Welcome to Term 2 to the parents and students of Rooms 2 and 2a!! We have had a lovely first day of term, with lots of work and fun. I am including some planning to inform families of our learning this term and also some photos to show how we spent our time in Room 2a today. Here is our timetable for the term:

Here are our rubrics for our Integrated Social Sciences Unit which we will be participating in during weeks 1&2.
Financial Literacy – Stewardship – “Greedy Cat”
Social Science – *Pet owner must provide care e.g.food/clean water shelter care love every day *Cats need to be taken to a vet regularly to keep them healthy
Science – *Compare the basic requirements of us and cats as living things
Maths – * Comparisons of cat food costs at 3 main supermarkets * Coins/notes needed to make amount for cat food Storytelling – Oral *Using Topic specific words in their stories *Is able to tell a four sentence description using pattern The cat (Title), Pronoun Pronoun Noun and the descriptives of: colour size shape position with support.
ICT *Learning to say story clearly for recording on I Pad
Reading *Identifies rhyming words in the texts *Can substitute different adjectives *Identifies chunks of words and can create word families cat mat fat etc
Technology/ Art *Sketch a Plan for a Cat toy using limited equipment-teacher selected * Make simple cat toys * Make a 3D picture of a cat
Health *Relationships – Express their own needs, wants and feelings and listen to those of other people
Room 2 students were working hard at Maths time too….
Room 2a students are practising their Handwriting on the whiteboards. Our letter of the week is C. We wrote a lot of CCCC and cccc. We also write our names and the word ‘come.’
