On Monday the students of Room 2a went outside to do their handwriting! We talked about where to start writing, the direction to go in, and shapes to make. As we wrote the lower case letter ‘a’ which is our letter of the week we said this sentence – ‘Caterpillar C, and up, and down.’ This was to remind ourselves about the correct way to form an ‘a.’ Some of us were starting in the wrong place, or going in the wrong direction. We intend to be forming perfect ‘a’s by the end of the week!
Look at what we did, sitting in the warm winter sun……
First we made just letters…..then we copied some of our cards with ‘a’ words on them.
Some of the words were ‘a’ and ‘are’ and ‘am’ and ‘and.’ We copied these off our pink word cards.
Some of the words came off our Letter of the Week wall. Words like aeroplane, astronaut, apple and ant.
Everyone had fun doing Handwriting outside. We are getting better and better as we practise!
