This Thursday Room 2 and Room 2a went by van to Allenby Park! It was part of our Health Unit – “Relating to Others – Sharing and Cooperation.”
First we talked about how to play safely on the playground together. We had boundaries to stay within and had to be kind and caring to each other and any other visitors to the playground.
We enjoyed eating our ‘Fruit in Schools’ grapes while we were there. They were juicy and delicious.
After that we played Follow the Leader!
In the big field we played ‘Duck, Duck, Goose’ taking turns, racing and chasing each other. Ask me how to play the game – I can explain all the rules. We then noticed that it had begun to rain lightly. So we sat under a big tree and played games. ‘I Spy’ was our favourite. It is great for thinking about letter/sound relationships and the initial letters of words.
It was great fun to spend time with our friends, learning how to cooperate and take turns. We found it was important to know the rules and follow them, so everyone enjoyed the game.
