This week Emily had her story about the Zoo trip published in the Newsletter. She had done this on googledocs and Mr Norman and her edited the story in class. Room 12 has lots of great writing. Check out the office foyer for some other pieces of writing that will be published soon.
Room 12’s Day at the Zoo
Today I woke up all happy and I was extremely excited and ready for a crisp new morning and a lovely day.
Today I got to go on a trip to the Auckland zoo to classify some birds and other animals. My classmates were really excited to go, including me!
First the day started off with a bus ride to the zoo. When we had arrived at the zoo we set off on our journey in our groups Mr Norman had put us in.
Next I wanted to see the kiwi first so we went there first. When we went inside the kiwi enclosure, it was all dark because kiwi’s are only awake when it is dark. The kiwi is a night bird and we call this a nocturnal bird.
While I was in there I was walking around and then all of sudden right next to my face was a long beak of a kiwi it was really cool!
After a while at looking at the animals we met Sue from the zoo, she gave us a bit of a quiz.
I really liked her as she was a little funny!
We all had a great trip at the zoo and I can’t wait for our next trip. See our photos online!
