St Anne’s Shield
We were getting prepared for the one last time I would ever play this, so I knew I had to play good. So I went on to the bus with the rest of the players and I ended up in a squashed seat but then we had arrived at the grounds. Every other school was getting prepped for their games but first we had to weigh ourselves so we’re not too heavy. Unfortunately one of our players were just overweight and could not play. He was a good player too. Just before we could play we had to go to the hall so we can hear what the organiser of this tournament had to say.
Now once the organiser of the St Anne’s Shield was finished talking to all the schools he let us all come out. So now that he was finished all the teams were going to the grounds were they were going to play at. Our first game was against St Johns Otara and we kicked it off with a comfortable win and after that we had a whole heap of teams to go up against. We won against every team scoring nil against us, except for one team they scored one try. But even though we didn’t go through the tournament beating all teams by nil. We did well representing our school with our new rugby jerseys.
So now we all walked back to the prize giving to see who will go back to school with the shield. During the whole process our school was coming first in mostly all of them including us so when they called the winners I knew we had to win it. So for the last time I play this as a Year Six. I think it was a magnificent St Anne’s Shield.
