COOL TECH WON! Johnny was the leader of our government. Charlie-Anne and I (Mikayla) were the co leaders. It was a really fun and educational day for all of us. Personally it was the best day of the year so far. There was lots of excitement and happiness throughout the students of Manaakitanga. Everyone was put into 4 groups (Yr6 boys, Yr5 boys, Yr5 Girls and Yr6 girls). Each activity was 35 minutes and everyone followed a simple rotation. After Mass kids got changed into their MUFTI!!!! Let the (educational) GAMES BEGIN!!!
Amazing Race
Monette and I had the year six girls first for the Amazing Race. The rules of the amazing race;
- Groups of 4 or less
- Find Math Problems around the school
- Answer them to the instructors (Monette and Mikayla)
- Answer right then you get a point
- Group with the most points will win.
Each year group had 35 minutes with us. They all said that they enjoyed the amazing race best of all. Everyone had a smile on their face and they were all eager to play and excited. Some questions were extremely hard and some very easy. Which mean our syndicate is actually pretty smart to answer those difficult ones. To be honest alot of the people were extremely quick to find it even though we hid it in places very hard to find for example in our syndicate classrooms, behind the hall and behind bins.
Arts and Crafts
Marie and Charlie led the Arts and Crafts. They planned to make unique mask patterns for the Nerf Range. After each rotation Marie and Charlie had the tough job of deciding who will be winner of the group-which means that end of the day they will receive a prize. They had made creative designs and masks. THey were able to use coloured paper, paint, crayons, felts any more craft tools.
Nerf Range
Everything planned had to be educational or it has to use a subject in school-You must be wondering educational – Nerf Range-doesn’t sound right. For our competition in this game involved angles. Your goal is the red target. Everyone will be supplied with a nerf gun. Alot of people enjoyed the Nerf Gun range because it was both fun and educational at the same time. Wouldn’t that be a better way for teachers to help us learn angles and measurement?
Super Quiz
This Quiz was lead by one of the two smartest people in our syndicate-Johnny and Conrad. Questions asked in quiz were pretty challenging and tough. Alot of people like challenges.. So firstly you had to get into groups. THe rules were pretty straight up- Respect the hots at all times, Don’t call out the answer, Don’t go all Hulk smash when you get an answer wrong and last but not least have lots of fun.The questions were pretty tough-you had to think out of the box and read between the lines to answer most of them.
Prize Giving (End of School)
After a long day of running, thinking, painting and shooting everyone finally got to together for the Prizegiving ceremony. The leaders of Each activity stood up announcing the winners of each group. The winners were presented with a handful of lollies each. Everyone clapped and cheered for the winners. After a long day/terms we all said prayers and joyfully left school to begin their TWO WEEKS OF HOLIDAY! HOORAY!!!!!! ;D
